College Persistence Challenge Winners: Congratulations, SEO Alumnae!
In December of 2018, SEO partnered with the Lumina Foundation to launch a new College Persistence Challenge. The challenge required applicants to develop solutions to reflect the gaps and needs of first-generation, low-income, high-potential college students. Applicants presented new and innovative solutions to overcome some of the biggest barriers to graduating from college in four years, including mental health, community, and financial aid.
Today, we are happy to announce the winning team. Team Hood is a team of two SEO alumnae, who said their passion comes from the hope and support they were given by SEO. Their proposal consists of developing an app that helps college students build networks, relationships, and support systems on their college campuses. Eventually, they would like to incorporate resources for overcoming financial obstacles and mental health issues.
Please join us in congratulating our alumnae on an outstanding proposal.
